Good and bad experiences with LPI

I'm thinking of getting one but concerned about technical difficulties. I don't have any equipment suitable for long exposures and would need to use Registax.

I currently do a lot of "point and click" stuff with digital cameras.

As the LPI is generally used for pleanet and the exposures are generally well under 1 second it should be ok.
Ive sot planets with my ETX 90 using hand controls to keep the object close to the middle of the FOV then used registax to align the images.
