Hello Guys

I have recently joined the forum as I have purchased a Solarmax 60. Needless to say, I am staggered with the performance of this little telescope. Hopefully, I will get many years of enjoyment from it. It complements my other scopes too.

My question refers to an appropriate telescope tripod and necessary mountings I will need for this. I have a photographic tripod, but this has to be seen as a temporary measure, as I have to continually re-allign the sun due to the earth's movement. thus, I would really appriciate some advice regarding what sort of EQ tripod, mounting rings, mounting plate etc. to get to safely support the telescope and track the sun.

Thanks in advance.

Steve

Hi Steve,

I use an LXD75 mount which works very well with my Solarmax60.

If you have a large (night time) telescope you can "piggy back" your Solarmax 40 onto it. However, don't try it with a small telescope on an EQ1. This works for the PST and Solarmax 40 but not the 60.

Great telescope, BTW.
