Meade has just released 2 new series 5000 eyepieces sets. Series 5000 PWA ( Premium Wide Angle) and the Series 5000 UWA, ( Ultra Wide Angle) . Take a look at Meade’s web site to check them out.

Interesting looking eyepieces with different focal lengths than what I am used to seeing from Meade.

On the UHD eyepieces, I noticed that the field of view changes with the the focal length, starting out with 70 degrees with the 30mm, then dropping to 65 for most of them.  The shortest focal length is 60 degrees.  This seems logical when definition is the emphasized feature, rather than a specific field of view.

Thanks for pointing these out, Rick!

Bill,
When I first noticed that I thought that Meade had taken a step back and maybe they did for a good reason, Sixty five and seventy degree fov is great if the definition is improved. With my f10 LX90 and LX200 I have real good luck with The old Meade SWA eyepieces, definition is great with these at 60 degree fov.

Thanks Bill
