I recently purchased this and noticed there is some kind of plastic insert in the tube ( see picture). It’s preventing the insertion of my 2” diagonal. Not sure what it does and if should be there. Ideas anyone?

Did you buy the scope new?  If not, it may be something left in there by a previous owner.  If the scope is new, someone at Meade Customer Support might know something about whatever it is.  (800) 626-3233 (USA only).

Personally, I don't have a clue, but that sure does look out of place to me.

Scope is brand new - 1 week old. Customer service had no clue. We’re going to check.
