Finally got some clear skies last night over northwest Alabama so I piggybacked the Canon onto the LX90 last night and took this wide field shot of the Trifid and Lagoon Nebula area.  The second pic consists of individual shots I made last year.  Still having fun with astronomy!! :D

Hi Steve,

 

Nice shot! :)  In fact, you have three Messier Objects in the field that I can see:  Lagoon (M8), Trifid (M20), and the open cluster above and to the left of the Trifid Nebula is M21!

Here's the same shot but with darks applied to the stack.  They do make a difference!

Nice group shot there.  The 2 shots show the darks definitely make a difference.
