Been thinking about this for awhile and decided to go ahead with it.  I've ordered an Explore Scientific EXOS-2GT GoTo Equatorial mount.  I would like to get more into wide field photos and do it without having to set up the 8" LX90 with the camera piggybacked on it. It will definitely be a lighter setup and maybe quicker.  For a price of $500, it is the lowest price of a goto EQ that I have seen.  With a capacity of 29 lbs, it should hold my 8" LX90 with ease if I ever decide to defork it. Right now looks like delivery might be middle or end of June.  I'll keep you posted.

Looks like a nice idea to mount a camera for wide field imaging or setting up another scope.

I was curious about the weight capacity.  I looked up the 8" OTA, and Meade lists it at 14 lbs.

That leaves you about 15 lbs for accessories if you decided to mount your LX90 OTA on the new mount.

I'm looking forward to seeing some pictures with your new mount.

Yep . . . another reason the 8" LX90 is the best all around telescope on the planet!  ;)
