I have been reading up on this lately.  Stacking multiple images is a great method for improving astronomy photographs. 

It reduces random noise and can increase dynamic range.  Wonderful tool, especially for those of us that can make multiple short images, as opposed to long exposures that require high tracking accuracy..

I am going to have to do that with the Color LPI-G that I have.  Fortunately, the unit comes with software that takes a video (I think) and then stacks the images.  I am going to try it out on an ETX 80 when I get through messing around with some other things.

Registax is my preferred tool for stacking images from a video. I'm having a few issues with Deep Sky Stacker but, when it works, I've found that using multiple dark frames (> 10) really helps. Before, I only did 3 or 4.
