Shot the Cocoon Nebula last night. It is really faint and hard to capture but I finally got it! There is a dark nebula that surrounds the brighter part and projects westward forming the appearance of a trail. This is 41 90 second shots at ISO 3200 stacked together.

That is cool, Steve!  I am a bit jealous.  I have to drive a long way to even have a chance to see that one.

Keep them coming!

Thanks Bill.  I live out in the county where the skies are fairly dark.  However, the 10 acre field across the street from my house was recently purchased by a developer.  He's putting in a subdivision consisting of 49 houses!!  There goes my dark skies to the south! :(

You have my empathy!  You might want to talk to the developer about the street lights he is putting in and any plans for what will be required for porch lights.  You might be able to head something off at the pass, before things get installed.

Steve,as you may know already with developers the minimum is the maximum but it's worth a try. Has the final platt been approved yet? You may have a chance if not. Good luck!

Don't know Rick, but I will check.

Thanks.
