What is that out of, Rick?

The screw in the photo is from an old Meade 2" Enhanced Diagnal. Meade configured the new version with a much shorter screw.

A couple of suggestions:
1. Call Customer Support and ask them about the older screws. Who knows, they might have some somewhere.
2. I have taken SS "Cheesehead" screws from the hardware store (ACE) and a fine toothed triangular file. I filed grooves parallel to the length of the screw in the edges of the head to give some grip. The work pretty well, and you can buy the screws in the length you want. I also filed on the end to make them a bit smoother from the machining process to keep them from scratching the barrel of the eyepiece. I believe they are 4 mm. They may look a bit funny, but they do work and give the length you need.

Thank you, I found a couple of plastic caps that fit over end of these screws and extend the length enough so I can grasp them now when I have a large wide angle eyepiece attached. I am not sure why Meade changed these but they did.

It probably has to do with who actually made that particular item or batch of them.
