I'm running my LS8" from a 12v Leisure battery using a 3x way power adapter (the cigarette lighter type). A couple of times it's blown a 5A fast blow fuse - should I be concerned?

The most recent time was when the scope was shutting down so it was slewing back to the 'home' position.

What is the max power that I should expect to be drawn?

Is it safe to fit a 10A fuse or use a slow blow 5A fuse instead?

I would not exceed 5A.  The recommended a/c power supply is rated at 5amps.  Use the slow blow fuse, and make sure the scope is balanced.

I suspect the problem with the fuse blowing was actually because of an occasional short that happened in the lead that I'd made up to connect the battery and the 'scope.

I use a 2.2A a/c power supply and I didn't have any issues with it, even for fast slewing.
