Howdy

I'm repairing a friend's ETX90 RA with a detached light baffle on the front corrector lens. IMG_1632_1.JPG

I've carefully removed all the messy glue and cleaned the surfaces.

I was wondering on the best way to proceed re-attaching the baffle.

The original sticky  ring is still available from Meade. But does anyone have another solution?  Does anyone have experience using 3M's Super 77 adhesive or perhaps epoxy ?

Thanks in advance

IM surprised it is still available as i couldnt find one for my etx 125 and i have contacts there. What I have done for others is after cleaning the surfaces Ive used black RTV sealant to stick them back in place.Use a thin film on the cone an d make sure you place it right the first time or your re cleaning everything again.

Once in place keep checking it every minute for the first 10 minutes to make sure it dosnt slide down on you.

Thanks.  I like this solution as the RTV sealant is less gooey than the adhesive and less perament than expoxy.  Now I just have to get the baffle centred with first contact  !!
