Hello,  I recently purchased a used ETX-70AT scope and the fitting where the camera mounts is at an angle and stuck that way (See attached photo).  Does anyone have any suggestions on how to correct this?  I'm afraid to force it because might damage the scope.  Is this fitting supposed to be able to be removed?

Thanks for any advice!  Scott

If memory serves me this is threaded in.You may be able to carefully unthread it and see what happens.

Swade,
I am pretty sure it's threaded and I beleive Mark is correct you will have to unthread it. I can't imagine how it was put in that way.

Ok, thanks for replies.  I guess I will take a pair of channel locks (and a thin towel to protect the surface) and try to back it out.  I think maybe it had a camera hooked up to it and was banged around and got bent.  The optics work fine with the mirror pointing to the eyepiece so I don't want to mess that up.  Scott

There are two articles on "rear port" fixes on the Helpful Information: Telescope Tech Tips page on my ETX Site (http://www.weasner.com/etx).  They may be of assistance.
