In the Sky and Telescope December 2013 issue, Denis di Cicco reviewed the LX850 favorably with the exception of the associated documentation. In his review, he stated that the "good news" was that Meade was working to update said documentation. Clearly this hasn't haopened yet.

Meade still notes the focal reducer as an optional accessory. It hasn't materialized.

Drift and 2-star alignments are both problematic, the latter seemingly related to an algorithm error. Suggestions to "reset the handset" or confine oneself to a one-star align are clearly evading the issues. The problems remain.

Are any of these likely to move from unfinished business to either completion or a definite statement ruling out completion?

Currently, there is no update on anything in the works, the only correction being that drift alignment is recommended and StarLock assisted drift alignment recommended along with the one star. Or conventional drift alignment.
