Hi everyone

Received my new lx600 16inch last week and a pier this week.  Very nice quality.  I do have a question if anyone can answer:

It is so heavy it came in 3 parts:  control panel/fork/optical tube.  Coming out the control panel (in order to route up through the fork) there are 3 cables, one is a serial for the motors, 2nd is rs232 for starlock pc connection, and third is a small 4 pin male rectangular, any ideas what this one is for?

Will update in a week or two how things go with the setup and operations, once the cement is laid for the pier.

thanks

Ian

I am not familiar with the workings of any new models. All I can say is contact John Piper at meade. He is one of the BEST people there to work with and he knows his stuff!

That might be the one for the hand controller

Or, it is the one that connects the StarLock to the TelescopeMount Base

thanks y'all.  Sounds like the mystery connector routes up through the lower forks, and plugs into a female that is connected to the 12v and focuser headphone type ports on the upper forks connected to the optical tube.  Cannot confirm yet as the optical tube still in the box and too heavy to lift!!  Should be interesting connecting those cables together!!
