Does anyone have any images taken with an LX600? They seem to be as elusive as the Dodo bird. I'd like to see a nice all night series of long exposures not the "look what I got" 5 second Orion Nebula.

I've been occasionally posting images to the Meade Facebook page.   Here are a couple of fairly recent ones.  I'm using an LX600 10" with the X Wedge and a Nikon D300 DSLR (unmodified).  I consider myself a beginner in astrophotography and am still on a steep learning curve.

M101 with LX600 10", Nikon D300 (unmodified). 19 X 300 and 5 X 600 for a total exposure of 2 hr 26 min @ IS0 1600.

The Needle Galaxy, NGC 4565, on 4/17/2014 taken under bright moonlight. 13 X 300 secs, Nikon D300, 10" LX600 @ISO 1600.

I got my LX600 almost a year ago.   Unfortunately for astronomy, we had record rains last summer and since the beginning of winter there have been clouds and winds almost every night.  I've usually only had a couple of usable nights each month.   Things are starting to look better, some I'm hopeful that I'll get more telescope time in the near future.   Probably most other LX600 owners in the Southwest have had the same problems.   I wonder how many LX600 owners there are?  I think that Meade's problems shortly after the LX600 became available probably discouraged some potential buyers.

why not post them in the forum gallery -- there is one set up for the LX600

LX850 with 10" ACF OTA and Takahashi FS 60C OTA -- SBIG STT-8300M CCD with FW8G-STT Self Guiding Filter Wheel and SBIG AO-8 Adaptive Optics -- Camera Control and Image Calibration with Maxim DL/CCD Pro, Image processing with PixInsight, and final composition with Photoshop CS5

Those are both really nice.  I am looking forward to what you do when you are no longer a beginner.

Thanks for sharing!

Thanks.   I did submit them to the LX600 gallery, but they have to be reviewed and approved before they become visible there.
