European online stores refuse orders to Meade telescopes. What happened? Germany, France and Britain. Refer to other brands.

Does anyone know anything ...? I want to order LX600 plus SolarMax and had seven stores told me that Meade does not respond to the order and the order is canceled earlier ....

I thought Meade Europe is now Bresser.

Thank you very much, for answer. I thought that Meade europe is Bresser still beginning of March 2014 . In few emails Bresser disabused, me. I wanted order LX600 and Bresser told me by e-mails that shipment are unsolvable. From November 2014 came neither telescope, wrote. So I do not know ...

The way I understand things is that Bresser used to be the owner of Meade Europa; this however is no longer the case. Most stores will not import directly from Meade US for reasons of shipping costs, which they would have to charge to their customers. Would make Meade products unacceptibly expensive.

There is supposed to be a new store in England that is handling Meade products.  However, I will ask about the rest of Europe.

Thanks Bill, I would really appreciate that! For years and years I could only dream of owning one of those great dark blue tubes. After having the ETX90 as a birthday present, I was just in time to get me one of the last LX90s as well, before all deliveries in Europe ended altogether. I consider myself very lucky indeed.

Hi guys, Is It about shipping costs? How it makes SKY-WATCHER or CELESTRON Losmandy, Explorer Scientific, Lunt? It has normal prices around the world. Including shipping costs. Do MEADE die for the rest of the world? I don´t want believe that.

I do not know enough about all the logistics, contracts, laws, etc. to make even a reasonable guess for an answer to Vin's question.
