Hi,

Has anyone found a way to piggyback a DSLR onto a 10" LX600? There's not much room on top of the scope because of the Starlock, finder scope, and the fork arms. I wouldn't mind removing the finder scope if necessary. I've seen some piggyback mounts that are a band that goes around the front of the scope, but not any as big as 10". Meade said their SCT piggyback mount would work, but it didn't fit at all and I sent it back.

Thanks,
Charles

I got one from ScopeStuff. Had to do some filing but it works.

Kind of dumb that Meade doesn't have one that fits.

I looked at that site and they have quite a few different options. Which one did you get? Can you describe how your piggyback and camera attach or send a picture? I'm wondering how well a DSLR fits onto the OTA.

Thanks,
Charles

here is a photo of the mount on my LX600. It is not the mount from Scope Stuff as I originally stated as that did not work. I think it is from JMI. Their Piggyback camera mount for 8" to 11" SCTs.
I had to file the right side slot on it to fit the screw holes on the OTA

Thanks very much. Looks like you removed the spotting scope to get the piggyback mount to fit.

No. My spotting scope is on the left side. Always has been.

Interesting. Mine is on the right side.
