Regarding the Autostar setup, when it asks whether we are in Daylight Savings or not should I answer "no" even though we are in DS? I remember reading somewhere but can't remember where, that if you have a GPS model you always answer no since the GPS sets the time and location.
I have not had the opportunity to try out my new baby as the weather has not been cooperating.

Also, about training motors and finder centering, would it not be much more accurate to use Polaris for these functions instead of a distant land based target? Being essentially geostationary I would think it would be a good target especially using high magnification and a cross-hair eyepiece.

you should be able to set it DST with no ill effects.
Ive been running my LX200 like that with no problems.

As for Polaris I've heard some have used it with no problems but remember it does move.
It may get you close enough but I still prefered to use a far away terrestial target.
