Hi I have a LXD55 SN10 scope. The scope will not move in DEC. When I looked in the drive access hole, the gears do not mesh. There is a gap between the gears. How can I adjust the gears? Ron

HI Ron

Are the gears lined up? or is one behind another? If they are behind one another, you can simply adjust then by loosening the set screw and sliding the gears to line up and mesh correctly. In my case, I had slight meshing but not enough. To adjust i I had to put some plastic spaces glued to the top of the motor assembly. Hope that is not the case for you. If you end up doing anything like that, be very careful to hold it securely. Since, they can fall onto the path of the encoder wheel and damage it. Good luck!
