starting to get back into my old telescope Meade ETX-90EC and i have autostar. #497 i believe. its been so long i havent updated it at all (that could be one of my problems). My question(s) is/are ive aligned it several times the way the instruction manual has it pointing north and Dec. at 0 degrees and horizontal level ect. after its done i look for something easy like saturn and its way off by a few degrees. i googled and said calibrate the motors which i did and didn't help. i use an app called GoSkyWatch for my phone and i look for real close galaxies that i may be able to see as ive seen galleries of my telescope see the same thing and it points in the area but its always off by a few degrees so im never centered and i look into the scope and nothing but dark sky. would the update for the autostar help? its a small telescope am i biting off more than i can chew for this little guy? any help and tips would be appreiciated.
