Hi,

I want to power my LX90 using a 12VDC cigarette lighter adapter that I have. The issue I have is that the adapter can be switched to change the +ve & -ve output on the plug that I connect to the scope. Before I connect it I want to make sure that it is switched the correct way.
Can someone please let me know which of the following 2 diagrams is the correct configuration for the 12VDC plug that connects to the scope? (Hope this all makes sense..).

+ve -----o  |------------------ -ve

-ve -----o  |------------------ +ve

Many thanks

Matt

Hi Matt,

The center pin should be positive.  Here is a link that will help:  http://jan.eaglecree...owerpanel.html  If there is ANY possibility that your adapter could be accidentally switched to reverse polarity you need to fuse it!  Reversing polarity with a car battery will spell disaster for your LX90 electronics.

Many thanks Russ. I't certainly my intention to modify the adapter to ensure the polarity can't be reversed.
Cheers
Matt
