Hi there!
I looked at the moon this morning with my 50mm f/7.6 achromatic refractor. I could see Clavius with a hint of detail in an around the crater!!!

Sounds like you caught it at the right time with the right weather! Congratulations!! That is really good, I think, for a 50 mm, especially with that short of a focal length. That 50 mm should be very good for observing open clusters.

Oh, and by the way, the telescope i am talking about only accepts .965" eyepieces.
