Some exciting solar developments: http://philippugh.fo.../SolarNews.html

Unfortunately, the Sun wasn't visible through the cloud for long, so exact positions of the sunspots is not too reliaible. Still, it is nice to see some activity again.

We're getting a mixed bag of weather in SW England at the moment. I haven't been keeping my solar news up to date until yesterday. As well as PST shots, I've also been doing "white light" shots now the sunspots are back, along with solar drawings. Webcamming the Sun has beaten me so far but I may experiment with a few tricks.

In the meantime, here's a few links to watch:

I haven't processed any photos yet but the Sun is amazingly active and all you need is a Baader filter or solar projection. I could clearly make out 6 sunspots this lunchtime.

I also managed a hydrogen alpha view early morning. My binoculars only showed a single large sunspot, so it is worth using a larger aperture (in my case 127mm) instrument for white light viewing from time to time.

You can follow my observations and photos here: http://philippugh.fo...servations.html

I don't post so much on here but there's my Twitter account and news on my website.

Very difficult observing conditions here at the moment.

I've been busy snapping stuff in the day and evening but have just updated my Solar News: http://philippugh.fo.../SolarNews.html

The Sun is really incredible at the moment but please observe it safely.

Weather is really against me but the Sun is really active in white light as well as hydrogen alpha. I seem to be getting somewhere with full disc shots, now I'm using GIMP, so check out my website to see what I've been up to.

I have some Christmas money to spend on a webcam but the SPC880s are out of stock.

After a slow start with observations limited by weather, I've finally started taking some snaps of the Sun:

Weather and illness have been keeping me quiet lately but I've finally been able to catch the Sun. I still need to find a better way of doing full disc hydrogen alpha shots but at least I can record some disc detail and prominences. I'm quite pleased with some of my "white light" shots, though:

Weather is a bit hit and miss here in the UK.

I did a few solar shots over the weekend and seem to have almost cracked the challenge of the full disc shots.

After a quiet few days, the Sun is active in white light again. I now have 100% cloud cover in the UK.

Your links don't work to me, all of them link me to a web about making web-pages.

Regards.
