Today I installed the Autostar software on my Linux (SuSE 10.2) PC. It runs brilliantly under WINE. Next I'm going to try and control my ETX-60 from it. I also am going to try the LPI CCD under Linux as well

OK, small update. I have found that I can use all the software on Linux using WINE, but I cannot control the telescope using the #506 Astrofinder,  nor can I use the LPI CCD under Linux.  :-\

So.....when are Meade going to start issuing *nix drivers for their CCDs?

I don't understand why you can't control the 506/494 from Linux.

Programs like XmTel, Ktelescope, EarthCenteredUniverse, and many listings from:
http://www.geocities...my/download.htm
and
http://www.midnightk...m/software.html

If there's any issues, the main trick for the 506 is:
Speak slowly... the 506/494 can only process less than 100 characters
per second... and that's not counting the actual execution time.
So don't use a program which asks "where are we!!" more than once per second
(For example)
