Just curious.  Is there a reason why Meade doesn't manufacture/distribute Meade branded apparel?  At least some logo'd t-shirts or sweatshirts would be pretty cool.  Just a thought.

I sort of questioned that too.

Apparently, when you sign up for Meade4M they say you get all this stuff as listed here:

http://www.meade4m.c...n/benefits.html

Ten they have an image showing a shirt, hat etc that leads you to believe you can purchase them in the 4M Store, but I haven't seen anything like that.

I haven't rec'd my package yet with my patch, ID card and all the other fun stuff. :(

If this stuff isn't available Meade should make it  available.  That shirt and the coffee mug look great, I'd buy them in a heartbeat.

I've sent an email to the 4M shop customer service peoples, let's see if they can shine a little light on the subject.

At one time you could buy a few things, like a ball cap.  However, those went away some time in the past.  They might not have had enough takers.  I almost ordered a ball cap a time or two, but didn't somehow.

Thanks Mark.
I know when I asked you the other day (via PM), you suggested calling Meade Cust. Service.

Sorry, but never got around to it, but see, I'm not the only loyal Meade client.
We all want to show our support in some way.

I asked customer service about gear a couple of years ago. They aren't in charge. Engineering geeks design great scopes but Meade needs more marketing. I too would buy gear in a minute to add to my cap with my 4M pin on it.

I shot off an email to Susie Phelps and she replied fairly quickly, verifying my shipping address and stating that she put my "membership materials" including the hat, pin and patch in the mail this morning (May 6th)

To all 4M Folks,

Flood her with e-mails!!  This is relatively inexpensive marketing for Meade, and I think we all have an interest in seeing Meade grow and succeed as a buisness.  It helps to get the word out.

By the way, what about that coffee mug?:)?

Susie had sent me an email stating that she would mail out my stuff on Monday, and I received it all today!  No coffe mugs, or BEER mugs, unfortunately, but a nice hat, pin and patch, accompanied by a hand-written thank you note.  Inexpensive marketing and personal notes rank pretty high in my book!

FYI, the return address was Meade Instruments Irvine, CA

Now where is mine?
I have not received any reply to the message I sent her. ::)
And now I'm scopeless too! Mine's on it's way back to Irvine for repairs. :(

Well believe me, since my scope is now in the shop (or at least on it's way), there's more time for drinking, so that Meade Beer Mug and pangalactic gargle blaster would really be nice! ::)

I guess I'll just settle for some cold Miller Lites, and louge in my hot tub counting the number of satellites that fly over (4 the other day - No ISS though).

Maybe I'll try looking for some of those Iridium Flares or whatever they're called. I've seen them before, just never knew what they were and always wrote them off as being an meteorite or something. and having seen them from the corner of the eye, maybe it's time to see them straight on.

You don't need to hear my sob stories. Sorry. :(
