I've taken a few planet images with my camcorder attached to LX200R, using eyepiece projection and processed with registax.

I was wondering if there would be any benefit in getting the LPI over my current setup.

One thing that confuses me a little bit is that the maximum frame rate of the LPI 3 fps? I've found that images processed with registax benefit from having as many frames as possible. My camcorder, for example, operates at 30 frames per second. Why, then, was the LPI designed with such a low frame rate?

thanks!

what type of camcorder are you using?

I am considering going the same route. The LPI works, I'm sure, but I think I had rather put my money in something that I can use for multiple uses.
