Hello,

I'm hoping that this message gets through to someone at Meade.  Scott Roberts?  You helped me last time I had a problem and I'm hoping you see this and can help.  Mark?

I own a LX200R 8" and a DSI II Pro and I really want to be able to use Pempro 2 and currently you have to buy other software that I really don't want to buy in order to use Pempro to train PEC and Drift align.

The problem is that Ray Gralak, the author of Pempro, has been trying to get authorization to support the DSI directly, without other software, and it has been on and off since December '07.  I previously sent a request for help through AutostarSuite.Net with one of the Beta Testers but we seem to be stalled again!

I can't believe that Meade would not want to support a software company like CCDware and Pempro that could only help Meade's customers like myself to have a better experience using Meade's products.  Currently I own 3 Meade telescopes, ETX 125PE, LX200R 8", Series 5000 80mm APO; and two cameras Meade DSI II Pro and DSII Color camera and as a loyal Meade customer, I am hoping that Meade will allow Pempro to directly support DSI Cameras.

If anyone reading this can help, I would greatly appreciate it!

Thanks,
Bob

Bob,
I know this has been brought to their attention in the past.
Im not sure where it stands.
Are you trying to use pempro to refine your gotos?
On the LX200R I believe in the smart mount section you can do this.
You goto several stars and center them and go through the routen and it helps a lot on the goto.
If you get the time drop me an e mail off group and let me know exactly what you are looking for and what you want to do.
Ill make sure it gets to the proper person at Meade.

Sorry to see this so late but I just joined here. I am the author of PEMPro and Meade did graciously give me the permission I needed and PEMPro V2.x now works with DSI I, DSI II, and even DSI III cameras.  Build 47 or later is needed, which you can download from here (I think only build 44 is on the CCDWare site at the moment but it should be updated soon. After downloading you can still use Check for Updates to get the latest build):

http://www.ccdware.com/downloads

Online documentation on using a DSI camera with PEMPro can be found here (and is also found in the Help file):

No, PEMPro is designed to be used with equatorial mounts.
